Video and Motion Graphics

This compilation showcases a diverse array of video and motion graphics that have played pivotal roles in industry tradeshows, as well as online marketing and social media campaigns. Notable highlights encompass a booth video that commanded attention at the 2019 NBAA Expo in Las Vegas, NV, as well as dynamic product promotions created for Astronics subsidiaries during the AIX Expo in Hamburg, DE in 2020. Additionally, this collection features a spectrum of product demonstrations.

The advent of the Coronavirus pandemic led to the unfortunate cancellation of AIX, but it also precipitated the widespread utilization of these videos on multiple platforms. They currently feature prominently on Astronics' corporate website, its YouTube channel, and various other social media channels, continuing to engage and inform audiences worldwide.

The Process

As a key component of my role at Astronics, I was entrusted with the mission of effectively marketing an extensive array of products spanning multiple subsidiaries. The challenge was to convey technical accuracy, visual appeal, and brand alignment in our marketing efforts. Collaborating closely with the Marketing Director, I embarked on the creation of a series of informative animations. These animations served dual purposes: captivating audiences at tradeshows within our booth and delivering engaging content on our website and social media platforms. The showcased videos are a testament to the last two tradeshows held prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. While the circumstances have changed dramatically, these informative animations continue to thrive in the online realm, providing valuable insights into our diverse product offerings.

Leveraging a wealth of visual resources provided by AES Engineering and diverse teams across Astronics' subsidiaries, I embarked on the creative journey of crafting visually stunning and meticulously accurate representations of our extensive product lines. These efforts breathed fresh life into our brand, infusing it with dynamic motion and captivating imagery. The core of this project revolved around the creation of product animations, a task primarily executed by me using Autodesk 3DS Max. However, to enrich the visual storytelling, I integrated existing video elements sourced from various internal channels. Notably, all animations portraying aircraft operations, whether in-flight, on the ground, or inside the cabin, were conceived and developed in 3DS Max, showcasing my dedication to detail and craftsmanship. The heart of this creative process lay in the conversion of STEP files, originating from the Engineering departments of each subsidiary, into textured and animated 3D models. This task was seamlessly achieved by importing them into the 3DS Max environment. In some cases, additional elements required the meticulous integration into flat bulkheads and flooring to achieve a natural and coherent visual presentation.
